Dark mode reaches Google, Discover and Assistant search
After a first test the dark mode in the Google search, Discover and Assistant is reaching all users.
Another week another Google application that joins the select group of the dark mode. This time it is Files by Google, the app for free space on Android devices and how well it works for homework; besides offering a file manager and also a file exchanger. The Files by Google application receives the dark mode in beta, but you can already try it
The expansion of the dark mode in Google Apps is at its own pace. It is not surprising since Google has a huge number of teams that can not always work closely. In addition, the number of Android applications the company owns is huge; with implications for the system that sometimes make complicated the dark mode implementation.
Files by Google He has received the black christening with a dark interface that makes good use of muted tones. Black backgrounds, dark gray cards, greater contrast for the elements and, in general, a pleasant appearance to which still you have elements to polish. Not surprisingly, the dark mode has reached Files by Google in beta, so you can get it:
- Sign up for Files by Google beta and update your application. Or lower it from scratch.
- Once the application is updated, you just have to start it: if you have the dark mode activated on your mobile, the Files interface in black should appear.
- You can also install the latest beta of Files by Google from Apk Mirror.
Files by Google does not have a theme selector from the settings, so it only activates the dark mode if the mobile has it activated in a generic way. It also doesn't work by turning on battery saver: if your Android doesn't have a dark mode you will not be able to see the black interface of Files. At least for now, we must remember that it is a beta: when the novelty reaches the stable version surely the dark theme will be selectable.
