Google Pixel 4, render

The Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL They won't see the light until October. At least if we assume that Google has no intention of modifying its usual schedule of releases. And although we are separated for several months from the presentation of this pair of phones, as has happened in previous years, Google has once again proved not to be one of the best when it comes to keeping secrets About their future releases.

Tracks, rumors, leaks and even official information shared by Google itself allow us now get a pretty clear idea about what we can expect from the Pixel 4 and 4 XL, the fourth generation of a series that since its inception in 2016 has had the ultimate goal of becoming the reference of the Android world, and that over the years has evolved, not without having found several stones along the road that have hindered his rise to the throne. Will the Pixel 4 be the "definitive Android"?

What we know about Pixel 4

The notch says goodbye … But at what price?

Google Pixel 4 Xl

If there was an aspect of the Pixel 3 criticized to the full it was the design. Not because of the smallest of the family, which in its analysis proved to be a beautiful and well-built telephone, but rather by Google's decision to provide the largest model of a gigantic notch, that beyond an imposing size an almost comic appearance, did not provide any extra functionality. Neither face recognition system, nor a louder speaker than normal. Nothing.

That's why Google has decided to return to the work table, and almost completely renew the design in this new generation. Thanks to one of the most recent leaks on the Pixel 4, we know that Google ignores the notch on this occasion, and bets on an appearance never seen before in a Pixel. The lower margin of the screen significantly reduces its size, until it reaches the terminal level as the OnePlus 7 Pro – or at least as represented by the renderswhile the superior maintains a size similar to that of Pixel 3.

In this way, the Pixel 3 move away from the classic appearance of the current mobiles, to resemble concepts like the Sony Xperia 10. However, it seems that the existence of a larger margin of considerable size is justified, and the photographic section of the terminal has a lot to do.

Pixel 4 XL, definitive design

We also see differences with respect to previous generations in the back of the phones. Glass construction is maintained, although everything points to the disappearance of one of the characteristic features of this family as it is the finish in two textures. As a novelty also comes a square photographic module that Google itself confirmed in an official image, and the fingerprint reader, we do not know if to become integrated on the screen, or if to say goodbye definitively and give way to the facial unlocking system.

At this point, we also know that The Pixel 4 XL feature a screen that hovers 6.3 inches diagonally, based on OLED technology and with a Quad HD + resolution. The smallest model stays at 5.7 inches with Full HD + resolution.

The main one in this regard, however, is the inclusion of a panel with a refresh rate of 90 Hz, under a technology that Google will name "Smooth Display".

The technical improvements we all expected

Google finally seems to have realized that 4 GB of RAM have long since ceased to be insufficient on Android. Not in mobiles like the Pixel 3rd or 3rd XL that we could analyze, but s in terminals that aspire to become the best terminals in the market.

Everything points to the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL will come equipped with 6 GB of RAMIn addition to, of course, assemble the Qualcomm Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor. Its internal storage will start from 64 GB, although there will be variants with 128 GB, and once again there will be no option to expand this capacity through microSD card.
