MediaTek, the Taiwanese chipset manufacturer, recently announced its first mobile processors focused on gaming devices: the Helio G90 and Helio G90T. The Helio G90 already shows its theoretical performance in benchmarks, allowing comparisons to be made. Antutu says it detected a device with the model ÔÇťk85v1_64ÔÇŁ in your database. The specifications fit to Helio G90 that MediaTek Just released. Shared details include the core architecture of the Cortex A76 CPU, at a clock speed of 2GHz. The GPU registered in the SoC is Mali-G76.

Helio G90 in Antutu vs Kirin 810 and Snapdragon 730

The MediaTek Helio G90 chipset is touted as the most powerful product that MediaTek currently has. He has managed to get a Total score on the Antutu benchmark of 222,282. This is slightly higher than the score obtained by the Snapdragon 730 chipset. However, it is slightly lower than the score achieved by Huawei's Hisilicon Kirin 810 SoC.

As a reminder, the Kirin 810 get a total of 237,437 points in AnTuTu. Meanwhile the Snapdragon 730 got around 210,052 points. The differences are in aspects such as CPU, GPU, UX and MEM. The G90 has a CPU score of 83,145 points, GPU of 67,629 points, UX of 57,247 points and MEM of 14,261 points. The Kirin 810 worked better in all aspects, but the Snapdragon 730 does better only in some aspects. The MediaTek Helio G90 has a higher UX score (50,743 for the SD730), a better MEM score (13,844 for the SD730) and a better GPU score (58,149 for the SD730). Surprisingly, the Snapdragon 730 scored a better CPU with 87,316 points.

Helio G90 in Geekbench vs Snapdragon 730

The Helio G90 has appeared on another benchmark platform, being this time GeekBench. Its results serve to reaffirm those seen on the Antutu platform, showing thermally above Qualcomm's Snapdragon 730 premium mid-range chipset. The chipset was seen on board a device with the model number k85v1_64. This is similar to the device we saw in the Antutu benchmark reviewed above.

The score on GeekBench that was loaded on April 15 shows that the device has a performance 7,193 point multi core. This is better than the Snapdragon 730, although since that date, there could have been some optimization that could make the score even higher. Performance of a single nucleus is located in 2,410 points.

Characteristics of the Helio G90

The Helio G90 series is based on a 12 nm FinFET manufacturing process. Both are eight-core processors with a combination of the Cortex-A76 and Cortex-A55 ARM cores. They come with a clock speed of up to 2.05 GHz and a large L3 cache. There is also an ARM Mali-G76 3EEMC4 GPU with clock speed up to 800 MHz. It offers support for a maximum screen resolution of 2520 x 1080 pixels. The SoC supports up to 10 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and storage in UFS 2.1 format.

Xiaomi and Redmi have confirmed that they work on a device with the Helio G90T, the most powerful version
