LG Q60 design

TO At first glance, the LG Q60 seems to have nothing to envy at a high range; It is elegant and with a wide screen. This device measures161.3 mm (16.13 cm) and has a 6.26 "screen that since we see the cell phone we will not take our eyes off. However, we will necessarily have to use both hands to control it.

In addition, from the back we will observe that the equipment is made of glass, which has become popular in cell phones these days and that forces us to use a protective case. Why? Because of the fragility of the equipment (which despite having a MIL-STD 810 military certification, it is preferable not to risk), as well as the footprints that are easily impregnated.

Another detail of the LG Q60's body is the location of the three cameras and the fingerprint sensor (used to unlock the device with the fingerprint). All these are located on the upper back of the cell phone. If you are not familiar with this distribution, it may take a while to get used to the location of the sensor.

About the sides, on the left side we have the typical buttons to increase or decrease volume, and with the differential addition of an exclusive key for Google voice assistant. Pressing it we can execute a series of commands like "Google, take a picture" and the camera will open automatically. Below we will find the slot for SIM and microSD cards (up to 2 TB, according to LG).

screen

Despite being 6.26 "in size, the LG Q60 screen only has a resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels (better known as HD +), which – in full 2019 – is not the best option (on YouTube we have the limit in quality of 720 pixels at 60 FPS.) For those who are used to watching videos in Full HD on the Internet, this situation may bother you.

But, if you only want to watch videos on social networks, this cell phone responds to those needs.

Also, the LG Q60 has remarkable frames throughout the team, both on the sides and on the bottom and top. It is true that the mobile is a medium range, but in the sector there are also small frames. In total there is a 77% screen-to-body ratio. This point should be improved in the next editions.

On the front, an element that will not take long to identify is the drop type notch (where the front camera is), this leaves a positive sensation as we use the terminal. In the event that we do not like this type of aggregates, LG offers us the option to "camouflage it" through the configuration.

Camera

This cell phone, as we mentioned, has three cameras on the back. The main, of 16 MP; the second, which is – more than anything – a 2 MP depth sensor (thanks to this we can take those portraits with blur); and the last one, which is a wide angle of 5 MP that allows us to considerably expand the plane.

Here when using the wide angle:

As you can see, while we have sunlight (or artificial) we can obtain acceptable results, according to the capabilities of the equipment. However, in the case that we want more quality, the LG Q60 will not supply us, because its cameras in terms of photography are regular.

It is important to emphasize that the cameras take a few moments to focus, that could affect us when we wanted to take a quick photo of something.

About the portrait photos and / or selfies, the 13 MP camera that has the LG Q60 offers good results, although it feels that the photos come out more warm than normal (yellowish tint). Here a comparison with portrait mode and without him. Do you notice the difference?

Finally, one of the characteristics of this team that is most promoted is that we can take pictures using voice commands. Although this is a technology already seen in other brands, we have evaluated it. Next, the video of our experience:

In turn, another video with the rear camera test (recorded at 1080p and at 30 frames per second):

performance

The LG Q60 has a 3,500 mAh battery that – after a social media use, watch a few videos and check emails – give us supply for a full day. Although its screen is 6.26 "in size, we must take into account that the resolution is 720 x 1520 pixels (HD +), which does not consume much (if we compare with Full HD or 2k screens).

Something that this team does not like is its charger and the absence of fast charging. Getting the LG Q60 is 100% battery takes us about 2 hours and 30 minutes, a considerable time if we are in a hurry. Also, the input is micro USB and not type C, the plug that is being 'standardized' more and more (which also ensures greater speed in data transmission).

To test the performance, we performed a bentchmark analysis and these were the results:

Despite not being a cell phone made for intense gaming, we tested the Mediatek MT6762 Helio P22 processor (12 nm), which, in the case of PUBG Mobile, only allowed us to play in low / medium qualities.

Ac our experience:

Conclusion

The LG Q60 is a mobile mid-range that does not innovate in its sector, but also fails. It has successes such as the photos of the three cameras (when the lumnic conditions are presented), a large screen (6.26 "), a nice design and good performance battery.

Among the mistakes of this equipment are: slow loading in full 2019 (2 hours and 30 to charge 100%), the resolution of the screen does not reach Full HD (1920 x 1080px) and the video camera is not the best of the range (or the photos at night).

The good:

– Battery- Large screen (6.26 ") – Design

The bad:

– Slow load- The resolution of the screen does not reach Full HD- Regular video camera

FACT: The LG Q60 can be purchased in Peru in plans of just over 80 soles per month. Abroad, this equipment is priced at almost 310 dollars.
