There are different methods that allow you to rotate the screen of your Windows computer. You may prefer to use the factory-installed tool that you can find in the Change screen settings, your graphics card settings or just the keyboard settings.
Below we explain these three options so you can rotate the screen of your Windows 7, 8 or 10 computer.
Before continuing, we recommend trying to rotate the screen using a key combination as it is the easiest way, although it does not always work depending on your software and you hardware.
There are softwares such as Nvidia or AMD drivers, which allow you to create keyboard shortcuts to easily rotate the screen at any time, such as pressing Shift + Alt + arrows.
If your computer does not have this type of keyboard shortcut it means that the software necessary.
The next method to rotate the screen of your Windows computer requires that you enter the control panel of your computer and change the settings. If you need to change the screen orientation regularly, this option may not be the most indicated.
1. Rotate the screen in Windows in Screen Settings
Another of the fastest ways to rotate the screen in Windows 10 is to right-click on the desktop and select the Screen Settings option.
You just have to choose between vertical or horizontal in the Orientation drop-down menu, and that's it. The screen rotate as desired.
If you use Windows 7 or Windows 8, right-click on the desktop and choose Screen resolution.
You see a graph that will show you how you have your monitors organized (in case you have more than one). You can click on the monitor you want and drag it to the appropriate position.
If you are not sure which monitor is which, click on the Identify button and some numbers will appear indicating which monitor each one is.
2. How to rotate the screen with Intel graphics
On a laptop or PC equipped with an Intel graphics chip, changing the orientation of the screen (or the external monitor connected with an HDMI cable) is as simple a task as choosing the orientation option you want from the drop-down menu.
Right-click on the desktop and look for the Intel Graphics Settings option.
3. How to rotate the screen with Nvidia graphics
If you have an Nvidia graphics card, you can also right-click on the desktop and choose this option instead of the Screen resolution option.
In the menu on the left, select Rotate the screen. If you see a message that tells you that you cannot rotate the screen with stereoscopic 3D enabled, click on the link and uncheck the option of Enable stereoscopic 3D.
To change the screen orientation, go to the Rotate screen options and select the orientation you want.
4. How to rotate the screen with AMD graphics
If you have an AMD graphics card, click on the Catalyst control center when you right-click on the desktop.
Next, look for the rotation option in the menu on the left of the screen and select the position you want.
