Apple presented the Live Photos as one of the novelties of the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus. What may seem an attractive feature of the new iPhone can also be a big disappointment when sharing them, at least until the most important social networks include support for Apple's "live photos." Even when they do, there will be many occasions when we want to share them in an unsupported service. The best in those cases is make a GIF from a Live Photo and that is what we are going to teach you in this article.
How to turn Live Photos into an animated GIF
Soon there will be many applications in the App Store that will be able to convert Apple's live photos into a GIF but, for the moment, the most comfortable thing is to do it with a computer. Workflow is not yet supported, but it is likely to be in the not too distant future.
UPDATE: I add an app that already does.
The application is no longer available in the App Store
With Image Capture + Video to GIF
- We connect our iPhone, iPod or iPad to our computer with the Lightning cable.
- Open Image Capture.
- We will see that there are two with the same name. We choose the .MOV file and drag it to the desktop.
- Once the conversion is finished, just click on Download.
