Why do they block my account?
When a person (or yourself) enters your account password, or does not respond correctly to security questions repeatedly your account will be blocked for security reasons, to avoid unauthorized access. This will prevent you from accessing Apple services until you verify your account. But before seeing how to achieve that, what messages are the ones that can appear to us?
- “This Apple ID has been disabled for security reasons”
- “You cannot log in because the account has been deactivated for security reasons”
- “This Apple ID has been blocked for security reasons”
The three messages are equivalent and mean the same, so the way of acting is the same in any of the three cases.
How to unlock my account?
Apple has a specific web page for this purpose: iForgot. In it you can unlock the account, recover your password or reset it to add a new one. But if you have Verification in two steps activated, things will not be so simple. Do you remember that security code that, when activated, Apple told you never to lose and that you should keep it in a safe place? Well, this is the time to use it.
Dual factor authentication would be the solution
Apple introduced a new security system with iOS 9 and OS X El Capitan that improved Verification in two steps, and is called Double factor authentication. They seem the same but it is not, since the recovery key is dispensed with, and Apple could always recover your account if you request it. This new security system is not yet available to everyone, as it is still under development. If you are one of the lucky ones to already have it active, perfect, if not, it will be your turn to wait.
