The Swedish multinational now has on the table an agreement with Sonos practically closed so that putting music anywhere in our home is easier. Both companies are planning the future of sound in homes but to see this project in stores will have to wait until 2019.
The project with Sonos is within Ikea Home Smart, It is a smart home project that, as we warned at the beginning of this article, is committed to wireless products to charge mobile phones or Tadfri smart bulbs. All this has been evolving since last 2105 and now it will focus on sound at home for a year.
Björn Block, director of Ikea Home Smart in Sweden, He explained to the media that music is part of people and that: “When we ask some people what sound they associate with their home, many responded that music is what makes them feel at home. ” and therefore they believe that adding Sonos products with their own can be a great success. On the other hand Patrick Spence, general director of Sonos, He said that sound should be considered as something of the current houses, within its design and therefore the collaboration with Ikea to create these new products is good for them, for Ikea and especially for customers. In any case, the experiences at home are important and having Ikea squeezing with accessories of this type can move this segment of the audio at home a little more.
